CHRISTMAS PARADE INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES

UNLESS YOU ARE A CANDY SPONSOR, NOTHING can be thrown from units during the parade!

Children run into the street after treats, causing potential for serious injury.

No parade unit may be longer than 55 feet, including all vehicles involved in your parade unit. If you show up with more than 55 feet worth of parade unit, we will charge you for an additional space.

You may not stop along the parade route for any performances.

Entries must have lights and be festively decorated.

Animals will be allowed in the parade at the Parade Committee’s discretion.

No political entries will be allowed.

Please, no live Santas, except the designated Santa.

There is only one Santa!

The parade is held rain or shine, warm or cold.

Please prepare your unit and participants accordingly!

There will be a cap of 75 entries, in order to ensure the parade time and quality. We will be reviewing all entry applications. If your entry does not make the final list, a full refund will be awarded.

We will be staging differently this year. We will return your signed approval form back to you with your line up time, line up entry point, and line up location. If you will not be at the parade, PLEASE make sure we have the contact information for the person who will be representing your organization!

Parade line up begins at 12:00. The parade will step off at 5:45 on the dot. If you are not in your assigned place on College Avenue by 5:15, we may not be able to accommodate you. The Christmas parade will line up on College Avenue, between Claremont Avenue and Center Street. The parade route will begin at Claremont Avenue/King Road/College Avenue, proceed up (north) on Claremont Avenue, turn right (east) on Main Street, and continue on Main Street until Union Street. A police officer will assist you from there.

Judging will be based on:

Creativity, Relation to Theme, and Overall Appearance.

There will be one winner for first, second, and third place for both Commercial and Non-Commercial categories. There will also be one winner each in Commercial and Non-Commercial for who Best Exemplifies our Theme. There will be cash prizes for all eight places!

Parade registration fees are as follows:

A Non-Commercial entry is $50. A Commercial entry is $100.

Deadline to register is Friday, November 21st.
